Avian Visitors

A standard feeder retrofitted with a low-power camera and an on-device classifier that identifies bird species as they land, logging each visit with a timestamp, species, and confidence score to a local database — no cloud service, no subscription, no footage leaving the device.

Current state

Shipped and running year-round. Species coverage is tuned to the birds common to the builder’s region; retraining on a different region’s species list is a documented, if manual, process.
